Rosen
Plaza Hotel, located in the heart of the International Drive resort
area, has been awarded this year’s most prestigious award for
the meetings industry – the 2004 Pinnacle Award. Sponsored by Successful Meetings magazine, the Pinnacle Award is given only to those hotels and resorts that represent the highest standards of excellence within the hotel industry. The publication’s 72,000 readers, mostly corporate and association meeting planners, based their selection on: overall service, meeting rooms and equipment, recreation facilities, quality of food and beverage, exhibit space, accessibility, and social consciousness. “Our commitment to the satisfaction of our meeting planners is very important to us,” said Victoria Hall, the hotel’s Director of Sales & Marketing. “Winning such important honors stands as a testament to our dedication in providing excellent guest service to all of our valued groups.” The multi award-winning Rosen Plaza Hotel, ideally located across from the Pointe Orlando shopping and dining complex, features 800 newly renovated guest rooms. In addition, it offers 60,000 square feet of flexible meeting space that includes a 26,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom and 22 individual meeting rooms. Several of the meeting rooms feature new carpet and upholstery. Rosen Plaza recently unveiled an innovative off-site airport check-in service that it is offering called BAGS Inc. (Baggage Airline Guest Services). Approved by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, BAGS allows guests to obtain their boarding passes and check bags at the hotel for a small fee. Bags are scanned by TSA representatives, and then transferred to a secure vehicle and routed to the airport. Another new offering at Rosen Plaza is that its guests now receive preferred tee times at Shingle Creek Golf Club, a new 7,213-yard championship course which is just minutes from the hotel. The par 72, David Harman-designed course lies along historic Shingle Creek – headwaters of the Florida Everglades – and is bordered by a natural backdrop of dense oaks and pines. Rosen Plaza guests receive complimentary transportation to the golf club, can host tournaments on the course, and can arrange corporate group programs with The Brad Brewer Golf Academy. Rosen Plaza Hotel guest rooms and suites all have in-room safes, coffee makers, computerized card key locks, voicemail, high-speed internet connections and dataports. On-site recreational options include a tropical swimming pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center, and four restaurants including award-winning Jack’s Place.
