ORLANDO (July 14, 2006) - Connie McCoy has been promoted to Director of Convention Services and Catering and Roger Morin has been promoted to Assistant Director of Convention Services and Catering, both at the Rosen Plaza hotel in Orlando, announced Victoria Hall, Director of Sales and Marketing for the award-winning hotel. The Rosen Plaza is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary this September. “At the Rosen Plaza, we pride ourselves on providing service that exceeds customers’ expectations,” says Hall. “Connie and Roger epitomize this philosophy and have earned the respect of their colleagues and industry professionals. We’re excited to welcome them to their new positions and are pleased they will continue to be an integral part of our team as we continue to provide the highest quality service available to our leisure and meetings guests.” As Director of Convention Services and Catering, McCoy will be responsible for maximizing the use of function space and banquet revenue, while excelling in overall customer satisfaction, the cornerstone of Rosen Hotel & Resort’s highly regarded commitment to guest services. McCoy has been with the Rosen Plaza since 2000 and was most recently a convention services manager with the hotel. McCoy entered the hospitality industry after moving to Florida from Michigan in 1976 where she was reservations manager for the Quality Inn in Kissimmee. In 1979, she joined the sales department staff at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Lake Buena Vista and assisted in developing the convention services and catering department, and by 1983 became director of convention services and catering. Twenty-two years later, after many changes in hotel ownership and management, McCoy made the move to the Rosen Plaza. During the many changes in ownership, it has been her goal over the years to provide customer service that exceeds the guests' expectations. This goal fits well with the philosophy of the Rosen Plaza hotel's management. A convention services manager with the Rosen Plaza for the past 18 months, Roger Morin is now Assistant Director of Convention Services and Catering, where he will support and assist the director of convention services. He also assumes responsibility for running the convention department in the absence of the director and will take care of many of the large city-wide conventions that visit Orlando every year. The award-winning 800-room Rosen Plaza Hotel sets a spectacular standard of hospitality, service and value. More than just a first-class meeting facility, this 14-story hotel offers a highly-respected professional staff and outstanding accommodations. The Rosen Plaza Hotel is an ideal headquarters hotel that caters to virtually every meeting need of groups from 10 to 2,800. The hotel combines impressive meeting capabilities with resort-style luxury in a world-class vacation destination. For more information, please visit www.rosenplaza.com or call (800) 336-9700. |
